Interview with Donal McCarthy

At today’s CSPE Teachers Conference Jack and Roisin interviewed Donal McCarthy. Donal was presenting a workshop about managing action projects. Jack and Roisin asked him about the importance of action projects and how they affect our communities. He also shared a few of the projects he found inspirational.

Interview with Conor Harrison and attendees at his workshop

Amy and Jack interviewed Conor Harrison, a lecturer in Maynooth University,  at the CSPE teachers Conference.  Conor delivered a workshop here today marking the Anniversary of the UN Convention of the Right of the Child. He spoke about why it is important for us to celebrate this Convention and what it actually covers.

Cara and Denis also interviewed Barry and Sean who attended this workshop. They spoke about how Conor involved attendees in the workshop and how they could use what they learned in their own classrooms. They also shared what they enjoyed most about the workshop.

Interview with Mary Lawlor

Lorcan and Roisin interviewed Mary Lawlor at the CSPE Teachers Conference. Mary is the founder of Front Line Defenders and was a guest speaker at the conference today. During the interview she spoke about human rights and the dangers of people losing their human rights. She also mentioned some of her national and international heroes.

Interview with Showcases at #Feilte – Part 2

Elena and Amy interviewed Maeve Liston who is involved in the Mallow School Project. She told us what the Mallow School Project involved and how it benefits schools.

Amy and Roisin interviewed a teacher and student teacher from Lacken National School. They spoke about their new STEAM room and what their showcase at Feilte was about.

Amy, Cara and Anna interviewed Bertie Callanan at Feilte today. Bertie is a secondary school teacher in St. Marys Nenagh.

Interview with Paddy Flood at Feilte

Elena and Roisin interviewed Paddy Flood Director of Schools Cavan Monaghan EDucation and Training Board.  Paddy spoke about the importance of inclusive education in schools. He also shared what he thinks is the greatest hope for education in the future.

Interview with Keelin Shanley

Anna and Jack interviewed Keelin Shanley today at #Feilte. Keelin chaired the discussions throughout the day. Anna and Jack asked her about her documentary “Hacked” which addressed the issue of cyber security. She talked to us about how young people should and can be safe on the internet. Finally she remembered a teacher who influenced her during her school years.

Interview with Joanne O’Riordan at #Feilte

Roisin and Cara interviewed Joanne O’Riordan today at #Feilte. Joanne was giving the capstone speech and also took part in a panel discussion during the day. Joanne spoke about the impact of technology in her life and her favourite piece of technology. She also shared her thoughts on what she thinks the Irish government can do to help support Irish people with disabilities. Joanne also spoke about inclusive education and the role her friends played in not making her feel any different. She gave her advice to young people on everybody having a voice.

Behind the scenes in our interview with Lorcan Tuohy

Mia  did an interview with Lorcan Tuohy at the YMT workshop in Thurles. Denis recorded the interview as a backup for the Ricoh Theta which is a fish eye 360 degrees camera. The backup camera he used is a JVC Everio camcorder mounted on a manfrotto tripod. Bernie also recorded the interview using the Anchor audio app on his phone. During the interview Pam took pictures on her phone.  One of the things we are learning in today’s workshop is the importance of having backups for our work.

Interview with Leanne Lynch

Amy and Anna interviewed Leanne Lynch.  Leanne teaches in St. Mary’s Convent Primary school in Nenagh.   She spoke about the technology she uses in her classroomm such as Kahoot and Makey Makey.
