Mags Amond is the Code Week Ambassador for Ireland and she spoke to us about Code Week and the plans across Europe for the next two weeks. This Code Week is their fifth anniversary and they will have over 100 events in Ireland. She talked about how people can get involved. Today at Feilte Lorcan and Elena had the opportunity to interview Richard Bruton, Minister for Education and Skills. Minister Bruton spoke to us about the Digital Strategy and the new Digital Learning Framework. He gave us an insight into inclusive education in the Junior Cycle and also spoke about coding and Computer Science. The Minister also shared his personal story of his Honours maths teacher.

Denis and Anna spoke to Rachel Farrell at Feilte.  Rachel has recently been appointed to the school of education in UCD. She previously worked in teacher CPD. She spoke about inclusion in teacher education and her greatest hope for the future of education.

Today at Feilte, Lorcan and Elena interviewed David Leahy, the Chief Executive from Galway Roscommon ETB. We talked about Féilte, what inspired him to enter the area of education, his interesting path into teaching and what his ideas are about education in the future.

Elena and Roisin interviewed Paddy Flood Director of Schools Cavan Monaghan EDucation and Training Board.  Paddy spoke about the importance of inclusive education in schools. He also shared what he thinks is the greatest hope for education in the future.

Rinneamar agallamh ar Pádraig ó Beaglaoich ag Feilte 2017.  Labhair sé faoi obair COGG agus conas suim a spreagadh sa Gheilge idir dhaoine óga. We interviewed Pádraig ó Beaglaoich at Feilte 2017. He spoke about the work of COGG and how to ignite interest in the Irish language for young people.

Cara and Jack interviewed Claire O’Brien who was involved in a panel discussion on homework at Feilte. She spoke about her experiences as a teacher introducing more creative options around homework with her students.

Denis and Amy interviewed Adam Harris at Féilte 2017. He spoke about how having autism has its ups and downs. He told us that despite his autism holding him back from certain things it also has positive aspects. He talked about his experiences in school and how other schools can help people with Autism feel included and comfortable in the school environment.

They spoke about the Stay Cool in School workshop that he had just presented and also spoke about the teacher in class and stress levels.
