Amy and Elena spoke to Mary Jo Bell and Ciara Brennan who presented at the CESI conference. Mary Jo and Ciara talked about how Adobe Spark can be used in classrooms. They also shared their thoughts on the importance of CESI for teachers who are looking to integrate technology into learning.

Roisin and Cara interviewed Anne Looney today at Cesicon 2017. Anne was giving the capstone speech today. Anne is currently the Interim CEO at the Higher Education Authority in Dublin and has recently been appointed as the founding Executive Dean of Dublin City University’s new Institute of  Education. Anne spoke about her previous job as CEO of NCCA, she also spoke about the impact woman make on education.

Sharon from Bridge21 gave a talk to us about her approach to teaching English and Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in particular, to secondary school students. Sharon believes that it is more benificial for students to use technology in learning. So far her methods have proven succesful. Sharon aims to incorporate her methods into more schools.

Today at #cesicon Caitlin and Monique interviewed students from Malahide Community School.

We asked four members of their I.T. team  about  their presentation and their work in relation to technology in  their school.  It was interesting to listen to the student’s voice on why technology is so important in schools today and on how it played a part in their learning.

Elena and Roisin interviewed Richard Millwood at Cesicon 2017 today. Richard was presenting a workshop at Cesicon about Computing in the Irish Curriculum. Richard spoke about his views for the future of computer science in the Irish curriculum. He also spoke about how important it is to integrate computing into the Irish curriculum.

Today at CESICon Lorcan and Elena interviewed Conor Power and Mike Carey.

They talked out the new junior cert coding course thats in its interm stage and how its going to continue into the future. They also talked about how its going to work in disadvantaged schools

Today at #cesion Monique and Caitlin interviewed Sinead Herlihy and Tony Riley.

The conference opened with Sinead and Tony speaking of the various tips and tricks that can be used while playing the invigorating game of Minecraft. They discussed how we can incorporate minecraft into our education system. Not only allowing kids to have fun but enabling them to learn in the process.
