Denis and Amy interviewed Niamh Sweeney who is the Head of Public Policy at Facebook in Dublin. Niamh told us about herself and how she got into journalism and subsequently Facebook. She also shared her thoughts on why it is important for social media platforms to be involved in the conversation around Media Literacy and what reliable news sources are and how to identify fake news. Finally, she shared her thoughts on the importance of education around media literacy.

Denis and Amy interviewed Professor Brian O’Neill, Director of Research at Dublin Institute of Technology and Chair of the Media Literacy Network Steering Group. Brian spoke about why we need a Media Literacy Network in Ireland, what encouraged him to get involved in the Network. He also shared his thoughts on what the large technology companies can do to promote Media Literacy to young people like us and what his thoughts are on the digital age of consent in Ireland being 13.

At the Media Literacy Ireland event, Denis and Amy interviewed Dr. Colman Noctor who is  a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in St Patrick’s Mental Health Services and Assistant  Professor at Trinity College Dublin. Colman spoke about his job as a Psychotherapist and what his thoughts are on the digital age of consent in Ireland
